Pick a Side collects minimal data to provide the service:

• Anonymous session ID — generated automatically, stored in your browser. No personal information required.
• Picks and takes — your votes and comments on showdowns.
• Username — optional, chosen by you.
• Usage analytics — anonymous events (page views, votes, interactions) to improve the app.
• Push subscription — if you opt in to notifications, we store your push endpoint.

• We do not collect your real name, email, phone number, or physical address unless you explicitly provide it.
• We do not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising.
• We do not use tracking cookies from third-party ad networks.

• To show you showdown results, community takes, and personalized insights.
• To send push notifications you opted into (daily showdowns, milestones, replies).
• To compute anonymous engagement metrics (retention, activity levels).
• To prevent abuse (rate limiting, content filtering).

Your data is stored on Supabase (PostgreSQL) hosted in the United States. Session data is also stored in your browser's localStorage.

You can clear your local data at any time by clearing your browser storage. To request deletion of server-side data, contact us at the email below.

• Supabase — database and authentication
• Vercel — hosting and deployment
• OpenAI — AI-generated showdown analysis (your matchup text is sent for analysis, not stored by us)

Pick a Side is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

We may update this policy. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
